Data Sourcing
Effective
Overview
Henshin's intelligence is built from publicly available retail signals — prices, availability, discounts, and new arrivals — turned into structured, queryable intelligence. This page explains what that market data is, where it comes from, and what we deliberately don't collect. It's separate from the personal data covered in our Privacy Policy.
What we collect
- Publicly visible product and pricing information from retailer websites — listings, prices, discounts, stock status, and similar attributes that anyone browsing those sites can see.
- Catalogue or sales data a customer chooses to import about their own business, covered by our Privacy Policy and DPA, not by this page.
- Catalogue data received directly from a brand or retailer under a data-sharing arrangement with them.
What we don't collect
- Personal data about the shoppers browsing the retail sites we track.
- Data behind a login, paywall, or other access restriction.
- Anything obtained by bypassing a website's access controls.
How it's used
Raw listings are enriched and classified — using AI-assisted taxonomy and entity resolution — into the structured signals customers see in Henshin: price positioning, markdown pressure, assortment gaps, and similar. We sell that derived analysis; we don't resell raw scraped listings.
Respect for source sites
We aim to access only publicly available pages, and we're mindful of the access preferences a website publishes for automated visitors. If you operate a site we track and have a concern about it, contact us at hello@crystal.re and we'll look into it.
Accuracy and limitations
Market data reflects observations at a point in time and may not always be complete or fully current. It's intended to inform decisions, not as a substitute for checking a retailer's own site for final, live pricing.
